DPhil (PhD) candidate in Philosophy of Physics at Balliol College Oxford currently supervised by David Wallace.
My research is in the philosophy of spacetime and quantum gravity. My DPhil thesis is on supersymmetry, specifically on what might go into a realist interpretation of superspace. But, more broadly, I am interested in issues related to interpretations of symmetries in classical and quantum mechanics, the ontology of quantum field theory and string theory, and the problem of time in general relativity.
I am also a guitarist, part-time music journalist and columnist. My genre of choice is progressive rock, arrived at by way of Chopin, Iron Maiden and Dream Theater.
