I am a philosopher of science and of physics, and Departmental Lecturer in philosophy of science at the University of Oxford, affiliated with Oriel College.
From December 2019 I will be a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Cambridge.
I currently work primarily on the foundations of general relativity and supersymmetry. I am also interested in issues related to the foundations of quantum field theory and string theory. My research in the philosophy of science is on the nature of confirmation of scientific theories. Here is a more detailed recent CV.
I am married to the philosopher Rachel Elizabeth Fraser.
